PHILOSOPHY & MISSION
The company’s focus on building Classical Foundations for Life® is evident in the lives of the school’s dancers who benefit from rigorous training, development of self-discipline and healthy bodies, self confidence, outstanding performance opportunities, and an appreciation for the arts. The school demands the best of each student, expecting that each one work to his or her highest potential. In return the school gives the care and attention each student deserves. The physical well–being of the student is of primary concern to the school. Teaching methods are based on injury free training.
Each year the school’s students are awarded scholarships to prestigious colleges and universities as well as summer study scholarships with elite ballet companies around the country. Many students have studied at School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre School, Austin Ballet Academy, Boston Ballet School, Houston Ballet Academy, San Francisco Ballet School, Joffrey Workshop — New York City, Joffrey Workshop — San Antonio, School of Pacific Northwest Ballet, Royal Ballet School Ð London, England, Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Orlando Ballet School, The Broadway Theatre Project, LINES Ballet School, The Paul Taylor School Workshop, The Jillana School, School of Ballet Chicago and Oklahoma City University Musical Theater Summer Workshop.
Former students have gone on to higher education institutions such as The Juilliard School, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, SMU–Meadows School of the Arts, University of Utah, University of Oklahoma, Texas Christian University, Oklahoma City University, Indiana University, Carnegie Mellon University, Princeton University, The Boston Conservatory, Cornish College of the Arts, Wake Forest University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and Butler University.
Many graduates have gone on to establish professional careers with well–known dance companies such as Cincinnati Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet Memphis, Ballet Nouveau Colorado, Ballet Austin, Pennsylvania Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Deutsche Oper am Rheim in Düsseldorf, Germany and Paul Taylor Dance Company and Broadway productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, The Color Purple, the National USA Tour of Dirty Dancing and and the National USA Tour of Legally Blonde.
